KaliAndrews Dance Company offers Ottawa a unique twist from the usual styles of dance in the form of Acrobatics and Circus Arts. Acrobatic Dance, as both an athletic sport and a performing art, has exploded in popularity over the last 10 years. It offers a dazzling array of unique skills and personalities to the audience. The most visible display of Acro can currently be seen in the world famous Cirque du Soleil.

Our studio is the first in Ottawa to specialize in this mind-blowing circus-style dance, with our competitive dancers taking home multiple 1st Place titles across both Regional and National Competitions. Participants of all ages, shapes and sizes benefit from developing the flexibility, strength and balance needed to perform show-stopping tricks.

Contortion class is for the acrobat who wants to specialize in bending the body into unusual poses. In acrobatics, total control over one’s body throughout an extreme range of motion is required in order to master the necessary skills. Also, excessive flexibility can prove extraordinarily valuable in many sports and activities, such as gymnastics, martial arts, dance, hockey and yoga.

This course is designed for “extra bendy” individuals; students already have natural flexibility and will work to enhance the beauty of bending.
